Truck towing 80 cows overturns near I-30 in Arlington, killing dozens of the animals

A truck towing about 80 cows tipped over Monday evening near an interstate in Arlington, killing some of the animals and causing traffic.
Officers responded shortly before 9:30 p.m. to the Baird Farm Road overpass at Interstate 30 after receiving multiple reports that a truck pulling a cattle trailer had rolled on its side, police said.
Investigators determined the driver had taken the exit off westbound I-30 and as he came to the intersection with the frontage road, he misjudged how much space there was, causing him to make a sudden turn.
The driver was not injured but an estimated 40 to 45 cows were killed, police said.

One surviving cow escaped and was fatally struck by another vehicle while the Tarrant County sheriff’s office helped unload and reload the living animals, according to the release.
Traffic was blocked off in the area while the crash was cleared and hazmat crews cleaned the intersection.
